| Each wind turbine requires a huge foundation like this. Note that the cement making industry is one of the worst Carbon Dioxide polluters of all industries!
These foundations will almost certainly NOT be removed if the turbines are ever dismantled.
On some hill tops, a lot of peat will have to be removed in order to obtain a good foundation. This results in release of Carbon Dioxide.

Access roads for the site construction traffic will also be needed. They will have to cnform to the requirements of the low loaders and their huge loads.
Such roads are permanent as maintenance access will be required.

Wind turbines can cause problems. Apart from bird and bat kill, chunks of ice can break off and fly considerable distances. Sometimes blades break off and fly, sometimes towers fail........ |

Wind turbines are BIG, and getting bigger - in the search for greater efficiency.
This is a medium-sized one as compared to a 747. Much larger ones are now proposed. With greater hazard to flying wilelife, greater fling distanes for ice chunks, and risk of damage when they fail.
Larger wind turbines also generate more irritating low-frequency noise and propogate it over much greater distances.
