SWATT - local page for Gilfach Goch and surrounding areas
This is a special page for residents of Gilfach Goch and the surrounding areas.

If all the proposed wind farm developments in your area get the go ahead , they will seriously affect your environment, the value of your property, the safety of your roads, etc., etc.

In order to influence the planning decision, you need to make a formal objection to these wind farm proposals.

The planning process is complicated as one of the proposals spans two different Local Authorities and any objections need to be sent to both of these.

We have drafted two letters you can use to object. Copy them to your computer, edit them if you like, but please print, sign and send them off as a matter of some urgency. The relevant planning committees meet very soon! The more objection letters that they receive, the less chance these proposals have of getting through.

IWhether you have been to a SWATT meeting or not, there are two key issues with the proposed developments:-

1)      Having the area SURROUNDED by Wind Farms.

2)      The increased congestion to the local A4093 & A4061 routes passing two schools during the construction period.

If you don't know what's proposed, click the link below to see a map of the proposed development.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NOW!!

Send Objection Letters to each Council (both Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taff) as the current proposed Wind Farms cross their boundaries, and both Councils will have to approve them.

Either use the letters we have prepared (see below) or write you own, using some or all of the reasons on the prepared letters as these list the planning reasons, unfortunately just to say you don’t want them is just not enough.

Letter to BCBC (This will open as a Word document)

Letter to RCT (This will open as a Word document)

HOW YOU CAN HELP TO EXPRESS YOUR DISAPPROVAL LATER

We are told these Wind Farms will be considered for approval by Bridgend Council planning Committee in the Spring of 2009. We plan to hold a demonstration on that day at Bridgend Council Offices  - Watch our News Page for details

When Rhondda Cynon Taff announce the date when they consider these Wind Farms we shall also be there. Details later.
